Trasformatori di corrente
Un trasformatore di corrente (noto anche come trasformatore di serie) riduce le correnti ad alta tensione a valori più piccoli e consente all'utente di regolare la corrente elettrica tramite un tipico amperometro. Nella sua configurazione, un avvolgimento primario che raccoglie pochi avvolgimenti è connesso in serie al conduttore che trasferisce la corrente. L'avvolgimento secondario può adattarsi con più bobine su un core laminato con un'ampia area di sezione trasversale.
Convenzionalmente, i trasformatori di corrente di misura o protettivi hanno le forme dei trasformatori di corrente avvolti, trasformatori di corrente toroidali e trasformatori di corrente a barre.
I trasformatori di corrente avvolti hanno l'avvolgimento primario impostato in serie con il conduttore che trasporta la corrente misurata nel circuito. La dimensione della corrente secondaria è influenzata dal numero di rapporto rotazioni del trasformatore.
I trasformatori di corrente toroidali sono trasformatori che non hanno l'avvolgimento primario. L'avvolgimento che trasporta la corrente è adattato tramite un foro nel trasformatore toroidale. Determinati trasformatori sono apribili, preparati e sigillati senza interruzione del circuito.
I trasformatori di corrente a barre applicano cavi o barre di distribuzione come avvolgimento primario. Interamente isolati dalla forte tensione d'esercizio del sistema, sono di solito legati al dispositivo di trasporto della corrente.
