Advanced sensing solutions for seamless interaction and accurate readings

Infineon’s sensing solutions offer the users possibility to interact with the devices they are using without physical contact, using a track movement of arm, or finger in the VR environment. The sensors are insensitive to light and are able to transmit through several materials, which makes them perfect for use with wearable fitness and health devices.

DPS310 - low power, high accuracy pressure sensing for battery-powered and wearable devices

DPS310 is a perfect fit for wearable devices that require sensors for monitoring fitness activities and detecting body motions. The sensor measures air pressure precisely up to 0.5Pa that equals to 5cm. This enables detection of body movements such as walking or climbing, standing-up, transient states, single steps or gestures. DPS310 can distinguish different body movements due to dynamic and static pressure changes. DPS310 can measure for example absolute altitude, relative altitude, elevation of the starting point and count steps.

The DPS310 sensor integrates both barometric pressure and temperature sensing into a single, ultra-compact 8-pin LGA form factor package that measures just 2.0 mm x 2.5 mm x 1.0 mm. Average current consumption is just 1.7 μA for pressure measurement, falling to only 0.5 μA in standby mode.

Integrated point-of-load converters for increased efficiency and enhanced power supply performance

Infineon’s point-of-load (PoL) converters integrate a PWM controller, driver and MOSFETs into a small PQFN package to deliver an ease of use, ultra compact layouts, and smallest bill of materials. The solution includes step down (buck) switching regulators, which operate across industrial temperature range. Infineon POL voltage regulators are optimized for 12 Vin applications, but can also operate at 5 V. The I2C / PMBus™ interface connects the digital controllers to the application system and provides real time telemetry information, monitoring and control capabilities in systems that use advanced CPUs, ASICs and FPGAs.
