环境光线传感器
环境光线传感器一般可用于在一定程度上模仿人眼的反应，或至少可用于与人在环境光照条件下的体验直接相关的电子元器件。它们通常可用于根据外部环境的亮度调节特定设备的显示亮度。例如，数字时钟在白天比在夜晚亮，这样亮度就不会低于光线强度，也不会在两个时间感受到不同的亮度。另一种应用可以用在显示器，如计算机屏幕或电视。除了光电传感器，没有红外或其他光线传输元器件被用于增强感应设备以外的元器件。它们完全依靠所在环境的光线，与人眼在相同条件下的反应一样。
在光线传感器内部，有一个以某种方式对光线敏感的感应元器件。通常，这是一种二极管或光敏电阻，可对能够有效测量和传输的光线输入做出反应。这种反应通常是控制器可以检测到的离散元器件之间的电压改变。
