Vetasi, an Arrow partner, is an international consultancy headquartered in the UK that specialises in solutions for Work & Enterprise Asset Management. Since 2005 Vetasi has been working with leading companies across the financial market, utilities, transportation, oil and gas, life sciences, manufacturing and mining industries to significantly improve asset performance and maximise their return on investment.

The Challenge

Vetasi carried out a complex project, for an end-customer, of migrating a busy and well-instantiated Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), which included integrations to a series of external systems located both on-premises and in the cloud and used Oracle Database, hosted on-premises to Amazon Web Services (AWS). The solution was rearchitected and hosted on AWS using EC2, VPC, RDS, Dynamo DB, S3, Route 53, IAM, and CloudWatch.

However, after the migration was completed, the key issue was the inability to breakdown costs per service or environment, which made billing the end-customer extremely challenging.

The Solution

Vetasi then decided to discuss the challenge with Arrow who, after analysing various available options, recommended the generation of tags on which Arrow billing team worked to provide Vetasi with a detailed breakdown of monthly costs as required.

The Result

Arrow helped Vetasi to manage their end-customers by simplifying the cost management activities. As a result, Vetasi could focus on generating value to the end-customer, who is extremely pleased with the seamless operation of their cloud-hosted system, and with agility of deployment.
