Infineon’s semiconductors perfectly support bidirectional EV charging

More Electric Vehicles (EVs) mean more EV charging – and more energy demand. That’s why it’s important to optimize the whole energy cycle, which is where bidirectional power flow comes in.

Simply put, bidirectional power flow means energy can flow in two directions. This feature allows EVs to act as energy storage systems to help minimize increasing demands on the power grid. Bidirectional power flow can be integrated into the car’s onboard charger or into the charging system like a DC wallbox.

Infineon’s comprehensive portfolio including CoolSiC™ MOSFET discretes, CoolSiC™ MOSFET modules, and EiceDRIVER™ isolated gate drivers. The 11 kW SiC bi-directional DC/DC converter board for EV charging make designing bidirectional systems simpler and let you bring your design to market faster than ever.
