Wednesday 31 March

09:35-10:25

Keynote:
The term Industry 4.0 refers to the fourth industrial revolution and is comprised of growing trends in automation, the internet of things, big data, and cloud computing technologies. During this round table discussion, we will discuss what the driving forces are behind Industry 4.0, the emerging technologies that are enabling its adoption, from intelligent sensing, digital twinning, connectivity and the role that 5G is playing.

12:20-12:45

The next Frontier; Seamless Ethernet to the Edge:
To realize the goal of highly connected, intelligent, and flexible building and process automation systems, a new frontier in connectivity is needed. Enabling seamless, long reach connectivity from edge devices requires new technology and an evolution of the network topology. From sensors deployed in remote, hazardous locations across process installations to edge sensor nodes within buildings, the ability to connect these devices and provide both data and power over 1km of cable will enable new insights transforming our management practices. The launch of Single Pair Ethernet, 10BASE-T1L physical layer devices will prove a game changer on the road to realizing edge node connectivity enabling devices to be directly IP addressable. This will change both the control network topology but also the maintenance and deployment burden of infrastructure. New data streams from edge nodes will provide new insights into asset utilization driving productivity improvements and process optimization. This paper with explore this new technology, discuss the use cases for 10BASE-T1L technology and explore the benefits which can be garnered. 10BASE-T1L connectivity promises to extend the benefits of IIoT to the remote corners of factories, building and process plants, where sensors and other endpoints were until now out of reach of the enterprise network. Join this talk to hear how to enable your seamless long reach connectivity solution today.

15:05-15:30

Enabling New CbM Opportunities with Complete, System Level Solutions:
CN0549 is a new condition-based monitoring platform from Analog Devices, designed to help accelerate condition monitoring hardware, software, and algorithm development. CN0549 is a complete development platform that provides mechanically secure, wide bandwidth sensor data with robust, high fidelity data acquisition. The open source software interfaces simplify connectivity from embedded systems to popular data analysis tools, such as MATLAB and Python. Enabling real-time processing with machine learning algorithms for services like predictive maintenance. The flexibility of this platform allows engineers of all disciplines to accelerate their condition monitoring developments and get their products to market faster.

Driving energy efficiency and lower EMI in industry 4.0:
With many discussions around industry 4.0 focused on increasing productivity and connectivity, it’s easy to forget the core requirements of any of these electronics endeavours – power! In today’s discussion we will discuss two core areas are prevalent in many power developments – efficiency and EMI. We will look at this from two different viewpoints – firstly from an efficiency standpoint where a significant portion of worldwide electricity consumption is used to power electric motor driven systems and secondly from a noise and EMI perspective and its impact on smart factories and industry 4.0. We will take a closer look at some of the technology available at Analog Devices to help deal with the challenging power landscape we face as the fourth industrial revolution progresses.

13:20-13:45

Intelligent sensing – Upgrade your sensors system to Industry 4.0:
What does “Intelligent sensing” mean for Industry 4.0?
What are the drivers for Industry 4.0 smart factories?
In day-to-day life we unknowingly interact with wide range of sensors which have wide range of application. In this presentation session we will discuss about a key ingredient to the Industry 4.0 Smart factories – Smart sensors as well as the new requirements to flawlessly integrate our physical and the digital world. Such implementation of intelligent sensing with increased computational power provides the user actionable insight in many different areas.
