A simple current trigger will turn on this triac BTA12-700CRG thyristor manufactured from STMicroelectronics and a forward-biased voltage will leave it on. This device has a surge current rating of 125 A. In order to ensure parts aren't damaged by bulk packaging, this product comes in tube packaging to add a little more protection by storing the loose parts in an outer tube. This SCR thyristor has an operating temperature range of -40 °C to 125 °C. Its repetitive peak forward blocking voltage is 700 V, while its repetitive peak reverse voltage is 700 V.
