How we quote
- Initially, we try to determine the country of origin (COO) of the part you are asking about. Based on the expected country of origin (COO) of the relevant part, the quote will include what we believe to be the likely tariff attributed to the COO of interest. Our commitment to you is that you will only be charged the tariff associated with the actual COO in accordance with U.S. Customs rules. If the expected COO changes or if new tariffs are added, modified, or removed, our invoice will be adjusted to reflect those changes.
How we charge
- There are many variables involved in determining the basis for a tariff charge. It can vary by supplier. It can vary based on the Importer of Record. It can be specific to the HTS code or a derivative value of the device. There is superseding logic around overlapping tariffs. Our systematic process takes these variables into account.
- While it can make our method appear more complicated, we chose to base our charges on the cost because it ensures you pay the least amount of tariff possible.
How we mitigate
- We mitigate our charges to the best of our abilities. That could mean the use of opportunities within the tariff language, such as drawback or reconciliation, to reduce or eliminate charges to you. It could also be the benefit of our warehousing strategies.
