The LT1761ES5-5#TRPBF is a surface-mount LDO linear regulator with a fixed output of 5 V and an input voltage range of 5.4 V to 20 V. The LT1761ES5-5#TRPBF can provide up to 0.1 A of current and has a typical dropout voltage of 0.1 V when providing 1 mA of current and 0.3 V when providing 0.1 A of current. The LT1761ES5-5#TRPBF provides multiple protection methods including reverse battery protection, current limiting, thermal limiting, and reverse protection. Stability of the LT1761ES5-5#TRPBF can be achieved with the use of a 1-µF output capacitor, and no protection diodes are required. The use of an external 10-nF bypass capacitor reduces the output noise to 20 µVRMS over 10 Hz to 100 kHz, and the low quiescent current draw of 20 µA makes the LT1761ES5-5#TRPBF ideal for battery-operated systems.
