Upgrading to Server 2016 from Older Versions

It is strongly recommended that systems running on Windows Server 2008 or older versions upgrade to the Server 2016.

Using the Windows Server 2008 Version?

On Jan. 14, 2020, Microsoft ended support for the widely used Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system. Support and security updates are no longer provided since this date. All Windows 2008 appliances are now vulnerable to attacks due to Microsoft no longer releasing security patches.

End of Support is here.
