Even though 1 in 4 people have mental health problems, most of us don’t get the help we need. Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding, and change minds across England and Wales by making mental health an everyday priority by standing up to the injustices – in healthcare, in work, in law – which make life harder for those of us with mental health problems.
Remember to start converting your well-earned Smyles to a charitable donation. Every 20,000 Smyles logged converts to £5.00 for the charity. With the Smyles raised through the #DellVita challenge, you have already helped us reach a total raised of £10,811.05 to date.
1 - Set specific goals
Having a specific goal in mind can help you stay motivated and focused. Set achievable goals, such as walking for 30 minutes a day, and track your progress.
2 - Schedule your time
Make exercise a part of your daily routine by scheduling a specific time for it in your calendar. This will help you stay committed and avoid the temptation to skip your workout.
3 - Do what you love
Choose physical activities that you enjoy doing, whether it’s dancing, swimming, cycling, or playing a sport. When you enjoy the activity, you’re more likely to stick with it and make it a habit.
4 - Max it out!
Find ways to incorporate more movement into your day, such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator or walking to the store instead of driving. Small changes add up over time.
5 - Stay accountable
Find a workout buddy or join a fitness group to help you stay motivated. Having someone to exercise with can make it more fun and provide the extra encouragement you need.
6 - Don't sweat it
There will naturally be times when life just gets in the way. But don't beat yourself up about it and make sure you get back on track and into your routine as soon as possible.
