Cloud Rewind, Air Gap Protect & Cleanroom Recovery for AWS
On Tuesday 8th October 2024, Commvault launched their first of an incredible 40 global SHIFT events at the Park Plaza London Riverbank, with a huge number of announcements and updates, including support for AWS customers.
AWS remains the leading cloud service provider today, and recognising its crucial role in modern IT infrastructures, Commvault has prioritised enhancing solutions for AWS users, offering direct support for AWS environments. One key feature is Cloud Rewind, which strengthens protection for Amazon S3 data by allowing users to revert to the last clean state, as previously mentioned. A Commvault product leader recently highlighted that the company has been safeguarding S3 workloads since 2009, and Cloud Rewind builds on that long-standing expertise.
Commvault has also launched Air Gap Protect, which provides immutable, isolated copies of data as a service, adding an additional layer of security for AWS customers. Furthermore, Commvault’s Cleanroom Recovery product has been extended to AWS, enabling organisations to test and recover data in a secure environment. This solution automates the provisioning of recovery infrastructure, allowing businesses to restore production workloads in an isolated AWS environment after an attack.
