Appranix rebrands as Commvault Cloud Rewind at SHIFT event

Taking resilience to the next level

On Tuesday 8th October 2024, Commvault launched their first of an incredible 40 global SHIFT events at the Park Plaza London Riverbank, with a huge number of announcements and updates, including Cloud Rewind.

One of Commvault's key offerings for cyber resilience is Cloud Rewind, which is a technology built on the IP of its purchase of Appranix this April. This feature provides organisations with enhanced, automated recovery capabilities, enabling them to rapidly rebuild cloud applications following an attack. This is especially valuable in addressing cyberattacks like ransomware, where it is essential to recover both data and the cloud applications that interact with it—without relying on manual processes that could take weeks or even months. Commvault's aim is to help enterprises recover faster than ever after an outage or cyberattack.

“We are taking resilience to the next level by marrying Commvault's extensive risk, readiness and recovery capabilities with Appranix’s next-generation cloud-native rebuild capabilities,,” said Sanjay Mirchandani, president and CEO of Commvault. The automated process is designed to reduce manual intervention, shorten recovery times, and allow businesses to resume normal operations with fewer delays.

Moreover, Commvault has integrated a cyber resilience dashboard into the platform, offering organisations a comprehensive view of their data and system health. This tool helps businesses detect vulnerabilities before they escalate into major issues. The practical benefit of Cloud Rewind is shorter recovery windows and less time spent troubleshooting corrupted systems. Organisations using Cloud Rewind should be able to quickly recover and restore their cloud applications and data, minimising business interruptions.
