The Situation

After moving away from a legacy platform that no longer met its needs, Sumillion, a values-led technology reseller and IT solutions provider known for its Microsoft expertise and focus on sustainability, turned to Arrow to bring greater simplicity, speed, and visibility to its cloud operations, through the ArrowSphere Cloud platform.  

The previous platform had fallen short in a few key areas, including usability, customer experience, and sustainability insights, leading Sumillion to look for a solution that could support growth and reflect the modern, intuitive service its customers expect.

ArrowSphere Assistant allows the team to carry out everyday tasks — from checking license details and generating reports, to summarising customer spend and spotting anomalies, simply by typing questions or commands in plain, natural language.  

“For me, it’s a sanity check,” Ryan explained. “Billing can be monotonous, so being able to ask ArrowSphere Assistant to check if something looks right, or to quickly summarise last month’s spend for a customer, is really useful. It’s made a huge difference to how I manage my time.” 

“It’s not only helping newer team members get up to speed, but for those less familiar with Microsoft’s licensing ecosystem, it acts as a hands-on learning assistant. As it’s embedded in the ArrowSphere Cloud platform, it doesn’t need additional setup, training, or maintenance.”

ArrowSphere Assistant delivered immediate value for Sumillion across both operational efficiency and strategic direction. From a day-to-day perspective, Ryan now spends less time on repetitive admin and more time advising customers, reviewing opportunities, and driving growth. 

“Something that might take five minutes here, or ten minutes there, doesn’t sound like a lot, but over time it really adds up,” Ryan said. “It frees me up to focus on the things that add real value like customer conversations and strategic planning.” 

One of the most powerful use cases is in reporting. Ryan can now ask ArrowSphere Assistant to generate or filter account data by customer, team, or subscription which used to involve downloading spreadsheets and manually applying filters.  

“It’s really helpful when you want a quick view of expenditure or license data for a specific customer. I can just ask for it, and if I want to refine it or apply filters, I can do it all in the same conversation.”

What makes the experience even more impactful is that ArrowSphere Assistant is built in. It’s not an add-on or separate interface, but a fully embedded part of the ArrowSphere Cloud experience. 

“It’s like having a team member who never sleeps,” Ryan said. “It just gets things done.” 

At the moment, ArrowSphere Assistant is being used primarily by Ryan and one other team member, but there’s a roadmap to roll it out across the wider organisation, particularly on the customer-facing side. 

“We’re only just getting going with it, and that’s what’s exciting,” Ryan continued. “There’s so much potential we haven’t even tapped into yet. The Assistant helps me to check how I’m doing each month and flags things that don’t look right. That kind of visibility is really valuable. 

“Some of our customers are already asking about it. Whether they’re pro-AI or a bit cautious, when they see the value it brings, such as simplifying billing or tracking usage, it makes an impact. It’s another way we can stand out.”
