Fundamentals of isolated gate drivers

In many modern electronic applications, such as electric vehicles, high-voltage circuits and low-voltage circuits must work in harmony. For example, the battery and motor circuits in an EV are designed to deliver lots of power, but the driver control circuits use very little power in comparison. How can designers ensure that normal amounts of power can flow between these distinct systems when needed, without exposing either to unanticipated transients or shorts? One way is with isolated gate drivers. In this video from ADI, get an overview of these innovative isolators.
