Nowadays, the tech industry's hottest topic is the IoT (Internet of Things), where all things are interconnected. Wi-Fi modules function as the core of the IoT, connecting all devices to a network.
Arrow ESC's Smart Control Module (SCM, PN: SCM001-IA1P1) is a low-cost, low power Wi-Fi module, designed for various IoT applications. It combines the industry's latest Wi-Fi and microcontroller technology to support IEEE 802.11 b/g/n wireless communication, widely used in various new intelligent electronic products.
The User's world is connected
The SCM module has a low-power Cortex-M4 MCU STM32F411 RF chip that operates at a frequency of up to 100 MHz. It has 512K bytes of Flash, 128K bytes of RAM and rich peripheral functions. The module also comes with 2MB SPI Flash, of which 1.5MB is for user’s data storage. With embedded Wi-Fi firmware and TCP/IP protocol stack, users can easily and quickly add Wi-Fi network communication capabilities for embedded devices. The SCM module also allows all kinds of embedded Wi-Fi applications.
The board shows the SCM module with built-in 2.4G radar, pressure sensors, temperature and humidity sensors, and UV ultraviolet sensor drivers. The SCM is designed for quick and convenient integration of smart home applications.
A wide range of applications and limitless market potential
IoT applications cover every aspect of life: including the smart home, wireless sensor networks and industrial controls. These are the hottest emerging application market segments, and create infinite growth opportunities.
Imagine a life, where a variety of home appliances - lighting, air conditioners, and virtually every appliance - hold built-in smart sensors, and at need, constantly stream all necessary environmental data to a user’s remote smartphone. Before arriving home you can begin cooking or start fresh coffee, creating the most comfortable living environment.
Wireless sensor networks utilize Wi-Fi to send data, avoiding excess wiring and breakdown caused by its complexity. For industrial control applications, the operator can remotely monitor all pertinent data from factory sites, including remote repairs and troubleshooting.
The SCM module currently supports a variety of sensors. Arrow ESC will equip all modules with free SDK and Apple and Android app source code, based on availability. Based within the network’s http, TCP / IP protocols, the user may develop their own embedded Wi-Fi application, easily achieving multi-functional smart connections and cloud services.
