Intelligent Connected Vehicles are moving forward on the way to dreams

Being one of the hottest technological applications at present, Intelligent Connected Vehicles are still at the early development stage. This article will analyze the general situation of technological development and the solution launched by Beijing Ruiteng Zhongtian Technology Co., Ltd to help you have a further understanding of Intelligent Connected Vehicle applications and seize the market opportunities ASAP.

V2X covers comprehensive automobile and transportation application environment

Automobile networking applications have many common names including Connected car, Internet of Vehicle and Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) etc., which generally refers to various applications after the vehicle connects to the internet. The V2X application can share various information of vehicles while moving forward with other vehicles or help the vehicle to communicate with transport facilities in order to improve traffic safety and traffic condition, which is one of the most promising technological applications at present.

Intelligent Connected Vehicle is the organic combination of Internet of Vehicle and intelligent vehicles. Vehicle intelligence refers to the technology depending on advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), adopting the method combing vehicle sensor and automobile automatic control system in order to realize a series of functions like automobile adaptive cruise control (ACC), automatic parking system (APS), automatic emergency brake (AEB) and lane keeping assistance system (LKA) etc.

The V2X application carries devices like advanced sensors, controllers and actuators etc., on the vehicle, integrates modern communication and network technology, realizes intelligent information exchange and sharing between the vehicle and X (people, vehicle, road and backstage etc.), and has the new-generation automobile functions like complex environment awareness, intelligent decision, cooperative control and execution etc.

The V2X technical field covers a lot, which not only includes various big auto factories, OEM manufactures and component suppliers, but also includes platforms and operators, basic roadside facilities construction, high precision maps and service information providers etc. The vehicle can conduct instant messaging through the internet to launch road safety applications such as forward collision warning, lane change warning / blind spot warning, emergency electric brake light warning, intersection movement assist, emergency vehicle approaching, roadworks warning and fleet platooning etc.

The main characteristics of V2X technology include unstable network topology, severe external environmental disturbance, predictable wheel path and the priority of small data packages. Thus two research directions are development including dedicated short range communication (DSRC) technology and LTE-V2X technology based on cellular mobile network.

At present, international suppliers devote comparatively higher attention on DSRC technology, among which the USA and Japan have relatively advanced research and application of DSRC infrastructure and have developed some mature technical systems that are enough to realize vehicle-to-road interconnection. DSRC can realize the communication in a comparatively small area (about tens of meters) during quick moving of the vehicle, as well as the live transmission of road conditions, road information, pedestrian information and vehicle information etc. The communication is mainly realized by on-board units (OBU) and roadside units (RSU) through dedicated data chain, together with the functions of data transmission, resource management and data safety guarantee in communications. Key indicators of DSRC include the supports for vehicle speed of 200km/h, response time of less than 50ms, average data transmission rate of 12Mbps (the maximum is 27Mbps) and the transmission range of 1km.

Another technical proposal is LTE-V2X technology with relatively rapid development in recent years, which originates from cellular up link technology (interpreted as 4G technology) and includes two operating modes such as LTE-V-Cell and LTE-V-Direct. The greatest advantage lies in that it can integrate existing communication base stations and realize low-cost and layer-by-layer transformation. In addition, its communication distance is relatively longer with faster signal transmission rate, which enables this technology with higher research ability. Its limitation lies in long response delay time under the circumstance of high speed vehicle conditions and communication safety issues etc., which are expected to be improved after widespread construction of 5G network.

Internet of Vehicles V2X solution with proprietary intellectual property rights

Devoted itself for developing new-generation of intelligent transportation communication products, Beijing Ruiteng Zhongtian Technology Co., Ltd launches Internet of Vehicles V2X device level system solution. For the DSRC/ETSI ITS G5 vehicle wireless networking communication standard adopted in North America and Europe and the LTE-V2X standard, which also adopted in mainland China, they provided the corresponding solution separately.

The DSRC/ETSI ITS G5 standard product solution complies with the IEEE802.11P protocol, the IEEE1609 protocol group and the SAE J2735 standard, and is compatible with the EU's ITS G5 standard.

China's LTE-V2X standard product solution supports the PC5 communication protocol between vehicle and vehicle, and the Uu protocol between vehicle and roadside, which comply with China's "Cooperative Intelligent Transportation System, Vehicle Communication System, Application Layer and Application Layer Data Interaction Standard".

The product line of Ruiteng Zhongtian includes vehicle terminals, roadside terminals and wireless communication modules etc. The mini version of MESH VALINK Internet of Vehicles communication vehicle terminals (MVW-OBU-Mini) launched by it is the Internet of Vehicles wireless communication device which has built-in V2X chip, provides vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-road (V2R) and vehicle-to-people (V2P) wireless communication solutions. The product can be deployed in small passenger vehicles and constitute Internet of Vehicles wireless communication network with adjacent OBUs and RSUs, which supports wireless communication modes such as LTE, WLAN and Bluetooth etc.

Vehicle terminals of Ruiteng Zhongtian acquires vehicle condition information through OBU device and then integrates GPS / BeiDou dual mode positioning system with the positional accuracy up to centimeter level. They also provide traffic safety information warning and intelligent transportation system management based on Internet of Vehicles wireless communication technology, road level service data interaction based on positioning, and basic communication service like fleet management etc., in order to make vehicle driving more secure, economic and comfortable, which should be applied in small passenger vehicles.

In addition, Ruiteng Zhongtian has the classic version of MESH VALINK Internet of Vehicles communication vehicle terminals (MVW-OBU-Classic) which can be deployed in large or middle-sized vehicles. In the aspect of roadside terminals, the company has the classic version of MESH VALINK Internet of Vehicles communication roadside terminals (MVW-RSU-Classic) which serves as roadside communication units deployed beside various roads and constitutes Internet of Vehicles wireless communication network with adjacent RSUs and OBUs.

Ruiteng Zhongtian also launches small and flexibly configured wireless communication modules that fit any electronic equipment and provide high bandwidth data transmission ability. In some regions that cannot be covered by wired connection or public network communication, the modules can conveniently and rapidly deploy dedicated high bandwidth data communication network in order to provide safe, reliable, fast and flexible data transmission guarantee for data communication.
