Vishay has introduced the eSMP® (enhanced Surface-Mount Power) series packages for high reliability automotive and industrial applications. The series consists of flat-type surface-mount packages with space-saving footprints that maintain the surge capabilities of traditional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode packages. Vishay provides 400 W SMF (DO-219AB), 400 W SMP (DO-220AA), 600 W SlimSMA (DO-221AC), and 1500 W SMPC (TO-277A) TVS for the same 10 / 1000 µs surge conditions as the traditional 400 W SMA, 600 W SMB, and 1500 W SMC TVS packages.

Vishay's SA8.0A-E3/54 TVS diode is designed to protect electronic components and circuits from electrical overstress from overvoltage and electrostatic discharge. Its peak pulse power dissipation is 500 W. This device's maximum clamping voltage is 13.6 V and minimum breakdown voltage is 8.89 V. Its maximum leakage current is 25 μA. Its test current is 1 mA. This TVS diode has an operating temperature range of -55 °C to 175 °C. In order to ensure safe delivery and enable quick mounting of this component after delivery, it will be encased in tape and reel packaging during shipment.
