It allows one SATA port to expand to 5 SATA (6.0 Gb/s) port and provides a SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) connection for each hard drive, expanding your storage capability. The S-331 has been proven as a low cost, cloud storage server solution.
The chipset featured is the Marvell 88SM9715. The S-331 supports communication speeds of 6.0 Gbps, 3.0 Gbps, and 1.5 Gbps and supports Native Command Queue (NCQ) and FIS Based Switching. Compatible with SATA 6G, 3G, and 1.5G hard drives.
