The Infineon ICL5102 is a multi-mode (CrCM and DCM) PFC and resonant half-bridge (HB) combination controller for LED drivers. This single controller reduces the reliance on external components and enhances the performance of the two stages of PFC and HB. With a two-stage approach, the PFC responsibilities are divided from the output current regulation functions for lower variation in the output voltage and current, as well as lower THD, higher power factor, and tolerance for AC line disturbance.
