Now that obesity has become a bigger and bigger threat to personal well-being, most modern people need to exercise more to maintain the body’s health. But how should one implement and monitor a daily exercise routine? Smart bracelets, smart watches and other wearable devices are the best choice for tracking the body’s movement. They can monitor and record an individual’s exercise and heart rate, bringing flexibility to their daily routine.

Well Being Digital introduces ActivHearts heart-rate sensors and Mogo motion sensors, with recognition algorithms, to help track heartbeat and walking / running data. Using PPG technology, the ActivHearts heart-rate monitor rests on the ear for heart-rate tracking.  While moving and in a continuous real-time manner, an accurate heart rate (bpm) is dynamically measured, using powerful algorithms, and removing residual motion interference. The final information is then sent to a smartphone via Bluetooth Smart.  The unit is small and light, highly accurate, and supports third-party API.  Mogo recognition sensors can identify a wide range of motions and movement; walking and running steps and distance, also pace and rhythm.  It distinguishes between walk vs. run, accurately and precisely measuring the workout.

In addition, BEATZ's smart bracelet and smart watch solution can assist in heart rate sensing, and for a variety of motion sensing status. Using a self-developed PPG module, it records one’s sleep status.  It is a small, low power unit, waterproof, and supports BLE.  The sensor has direct skin contact, interacting successfully with all skin tones and types.  It also features a high anti-noise function.

In addition, TI also released the inductive sensors LDC1000 series. An excellent non-contact tool for detecting sleep quality, simply install it under the mattress.  While you sleep, it senses breathing and heart rate through the nightly motion of the bed springs.  Using new technology, it transforms traditional home furnishings, into life-enhancing technological products.

Arrow ESC developed an EV board for LDC1000 as shown in the first figure, offering customers testing, evaluation and development of inductive sensing options.
