IoT devices are susceptible to cyber attacks due to their use of the Internet. However, hardware-based security solutions like the ATECC508A by Microchip physically isolate sensitive data from the processing core, adding a strong layer of protection from cyber attacks. The idea is to keep the data out of the microcontroller, which eliminates the possibility of a data leak.
