Literally, our offices are all in Hong Kong Science Park, which are just 366.75 meters apart by a straight line, a pleasant walk of 6-7 minutes for 550 meters, or around 762 steps. There is also a secret way that links our offices completely indoor that Google Map does not show you. This ON-Arrow expressway will take you less than 4 minutes and 50 seconds.

Indeed not only just in terms of proximity, ON Semiconductor and Arrow are also very close business partners in Asia Pacific.  Throughout the region, by means of branch office engagements and various marketing programs, the collaborations of both teams serve thousands of customers with the rich portfolio of ON Semiconductor featuring tens of thousands of semiconductor components, and shipping billions of units annually. Yes, this involves a lot of quantities per se.

Business generally speaking is a function of quantity, quality, and time.  If quantity is about science, quality is about art, while time is of the essence as always.  And, you in fact need all these critical factors to be successful in manufacturing, business, and virtually, everything.  Through our aligned engineering efforts, ON Semiconductor and Arrow have jointly developed many quality reference designs for various applications such as power management, industrial, and automotive, just to name a few.

With USB Type-C emerging as the de facto standard for wired connectivity especially in mobile phone and portable computer applications, Arrow strategic vertical industrial Business Development Team has adopted ON Semiconductor’s power management solutions based on active clamp flyback (ACF) topology for its reference design of 90W USB Type-C Charger, supporting both Power Delivery (PD) and Quick Charge (QC) standards.  This reference design features high power density, high efficiency as well as multiple output and is a perfect solution of latest IT appliances.

Another phenomenal change in the semiconductor applications in recent years is the electrification of automotive applications, leading the fifth generation of power sources, from the first steam-powered automobile in 1769, hydrogen-powered in 1808, diesel-powered in 1870, and petrol- or gasoline-powered in 1885.

ON Semiconductor’s innovative power management solutions and power semiconductors can be found in many different automotive vehicle electrification applications including the powertrain systems in Formula One™ and Formula E vehicles of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport race cars.

Capitalizing on these opportunities arising from this trend, Arrow strategic vertical automotive business development team has developed a wide range of solutions targeting onboard charging (OBC) and traction motor applications for electric vehicles building on ON Semiconductor’s power semiconductors like Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT), Isolated High Current IGBT Gate Driver, and Wide Bandgap products such as Silicon Carbide (SiC) Diodes.
