Example use cases and relevant documents, are provided via Arm Cortex Microcontroller Software Interface Standard (CMSIS) package, which enables you to read numerous sensors attached to the board through a freely available mobile application program (Android and iOS versions are supported) and to send sensor data to the selected Cloud through MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport, one of the IoT communication protocols). In addition to local graphical user interface to support Amazon, Azure and IBM Cloud, customers can also apply user-defined broker settings to add any MQTT broker.

The RSL10 Sense Solution can be used to rapidly build, test and deploy applications such as industrial wearable devices used for worker safety or asset monitoring. For example, the 3-axis accelerometer and activity recognition can be used for detecting falls or prolonged inactivity. The environmental sensors contribute to the monitoring of ambient conditions and can set solutions for triggering an alarm when threshold values are breached. The RSL10 Sense board can monitor and record environmental conditions like shock, temperature and humidity of asset or package, which is invaluable while confirming the asset state.

The RSL10 sensor platform is offered as two variants, including RSL10-SENSE-GEVK (base version) and RSL10-SENSE-DB-GEVK (debug version), both of which are equipped with CR2032 button cell battery and a flexible NFC Antenna. On the debug (-DB) version, the 10-pin debug header is populated and a Segger J-Link LITE CortexM debugger that connects to the header is provided. A needle connector (E.g. TC2050 ) is required on the base version for debugging.

The RSL10 sensor platform features the ultra-low power and internationally certified (FCC, CE, etc.) RSL10 System-in-Package (SiP). Configurable low power sensors include the NOA1305 (ambient light sensor), BHI160 (integrated low power smart hub, 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope), BMM150 (low power and low noise 3-axis digital geomagnetic sensor), BME680 (integrated high-accuracy gas, pressure, humidity and temperature sensor), INMP522 (ultra-low noise digital microphone), APTF1616 (programmable RGB LED), N24RF64 (64kB NFC EEPROM) and three programmable push buttons. It also supports RSL10 Sense and Control application program (iOS® and Android™) that can be used for Cloud Connectivity.

The RSL10-SENSE-GEVK multi-sensor Bluetooth Low Energy platform features the RSL10 SiP with the lowest power consumption in the industry and has over 10 sensors from ON Semiconductor and its partners including ambient light, inertial and environmental sensors. The combination of advanced sensor technology and ultra-low power BLE SoC enables development of sensor edge nodes with long battery life for various applications.
