Energy Harvesting Explorer Kit

The EFR32xG22E Energy Harvesting Explorer Kit is an excellent starting point for exploring and evaluating various energy harvesting solutions with Silicon Labs' Multiprotocol Wireless Systems on Chip (SoC). It enables the evaluation of the functionality and performance of energy-harvesting-powered devices with Bluetooth LE and Zigbee Green Power. This comprehensive kit includes the EFR32xG22E Explorer Kit and multiple energy harvesting shield boards, enabling the evaluation of various energy sources such as photovoltaic cells, inductive or piezoelectric systems, and thermoelectric generators (TEG). It supports applications with pulsed or continuous power supply and accommodates single or dual energy sources.

Kit Features

  • •  Features the energy-efficient EFR32xG22E +6 dBm, 512 kB Flash, 32 kB RAM, 4x4 QFN32, 18 GPIO, 125 C, with ultra-fast low-energy cold start and low-energy deep sleep wake-up
  • •  The Dual Harvester Shield is based on e-peas AEM13920 PMIC, and can be used to harvest energy from one or two sources at the same time. Typical use case scenarios are complimentary photovoltaic cells, one photovoltaic cell and one piezoelectric source taking energy from vibrations
  • •  The Kinetic Button Shield is based e-peas AEM0300 PMIC, to demonstrate a specific application, using a kinetic switch to temporarily power the Wireless SoC and transmit a sequence of packets
  • •  The Battery Shield is provided for debugging stand-alone operation scenarios or evaluating battery lifetime
