Dev Kit Description
The Texas Instruments BQ24171EVM-706-15V (-003) evaluation module helps designers evaluate the operation and performance of the bq24171 synchronous battery charger. The EVM is also called the HPA706 (-003). This EVM is optimized for a 12V or 15V input voltage and charges between 1 and 3 cell Li-Ion batteries. The manual includes the BQ24171EVM-706-15V bill of materials, board layout, and schematic. The bq24171 is a highly integrated JEITA Compliant stand-alone Li-ion and Li-polymer switch-mode, battery-charge controller with two integrated N-channel power MOSFETs and power path selector gate driver. It offers a constant-frequency synchronous PWM controller with high-accuracy regulation of input current, charge current and voltage. It also provides battery detection, preconditioning, charge termination, and charge status monitoring. This user's guide describes the features and operation of the BQ24171EVM-706-15V
