ADAFruit Industries' 3099 (also known as the Camera v2) is an eight megapixel camera module for the Raspberry Pi and is the Raspberry Pi Foundation's official camera board. Built on a Sony image sensor, it features the ability to shoot high quality photos and take video in full HD (1080p at 30fps).
On top of those functions, its small size (25mm x 23mm x 9mm and only 3.4g of weight including the cable) makes this module perfectly suited to portables, wearables, and IoT devices. All its software is supported by the latest version of the Raspbian OS.
