TCTH021AE Over Temperature Detection IC
TCTH021AE is part of the Thermoflagger (TRADEMARK) product family of heat monitoring integrated circuits. When used in conjunction with the PTC thermistors, these can monitor and deal with abnormal heat generation of electrical equipment. Consisting of a comparator and a constant current source inside the IC, it compares the voltage drop with an internal reference voltage by applying a constant current to PTC thermistor. When the temperature around the PTC rises, the comparator inside the TCTH021AE detects the voltage rise from the PTC and flags it at the output. Toshiba has an entire family of Thermoflagger (TRADEMARK) product line. TCTH021AE has a Push-pull output type while TCTH021BE and TCTH022BE has the Open drain output type with TCTH022BE also including a latching function for abnormal voltage detection.
