LT8491 Battery Management 14.2V Output Demonstration Board

Analog Devices
Datasheets

It operates from an input voltage that can be above, below or equal to the output voltage, making it ideal for use with a solar panel or a DC power source. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) exacts the most power in solar applications. The LT8491 performs automatic temperature compensation by sensing battery temperature.

80V Battery Charger Optimizes Power Monitoring

  • • I2C Interface for accurate reporting of voltage, current, power and temperature
  • • Maximum Power Point Tracking for solar applications
  • • Buck-Boost topology allows for a wide input voltage range from 6 to 80V

Key Features and Benefits

  • • 80V Input Capability Allows for High Input Voltage Charging
  • • I2C Reporting with Graphical User Interface provides valuable information to the user
  • • Maximum Power Point Tracking allows for the maximum power to be extracted from the solar panel
  • • Buck-Boost Topology enables operation from a low input voltage down to 6V, ideal for Solar apps when shaded

Applications

  • • Building Infrastructure: Solar Panel charger for power grid applications
  • • Consumer: Escape Route Lighting/ Solar LED Lighting/ City Lighting/Parking/Traffic, e-bike charging station
  • • Energy: Solar Panel Charger applications, Solar Buoy/Telematics
