This triac BTA16-600SWRG thyristor manufactured from STMicroelectronics acts as a bistable switch and will continue to operate when a voltage is applied to it. This device has a surge current rating of 168 A. In order to ensure parts aren't damaged by bulk packaging, this product comes in tube packaging to add a little more protection by storing the loose parts in an outer tube. Its repetitive peak forward blocking voltage is 600 V, while its repetitive peak reverse voltage is 600 V. This SCR thyristor has a minimum operating temperature of -40 °C and a maximum of 125 °C.
