Light up your extra EL wire or tape with this extra powerful EL inverter.

If you have electroluminescent (EL) tape or wires that need power, the 12 V EL Wire/Tape Inverter by Adafruit is the product for you! While most EL devices are powered by 2 AA batteries, the 12 V EL Wire/Tape Inverter by Adafruit uses a common household outlet to power either 20 feet of EL wire, 40 feet of plain EL or 15.5 in2 of combined panel/wire. Also, since the inverter is a potted brick, it generally runs quieter than most EL power options. Fun fact, if you want to quiet it down even more, you can crack open the case and pour in acrylic paint onto the inductor/transformer inside.
