LED Power Supplies

Shop Arrow.com’s wide selection of LED power supplies and LED drivers from top industry manufacturers including RECOM, Mean Well, Autec, CUI, MOONS, Osram and more. Find LED power supplies in constant current, constant voltage, and with a wide range of inputs and outputs, dimming options, and power factor correction options. LED power supplies (also referred to as LED drivers) are special purpose AC or DC power supplies intended to safely provide power to LEDs to maintain a constant light intensity output under changing characteristics and conditions. They are typically self-enclosed modules but are also available as PCB boards that can be integrated into other designs. They are typically either constant current, constant voltage or can work in either output mode of operation. They may also include a dimming capability. LED supplies are available with mains inputs. These can be 120V, 240V or universal—both are supported. They will have a power rating pertaining to the maximum power that can be consumed by the LEDs. This can be written in a way that expresses a particular output LED circuit configuration (for example, 6 Watt single output, 6 x 1W LEDs). A maximum rated power will also be specified, along with a power factor at full load and operating frequency of the power supply. The switch-mode converter inside the device will typically have a switching frequency higher than 100kHz. Over-voltage and over-temperature protection are mandatory inclusion. Many units are also specified for voltage isolation between the input and the output circuits and terminal block connectors are very commonly used to connect on both sides. Some constant current adapter style plug-packs are sold as LED power supplies. They usually are completely sealed, plug directly into a wall socket and have a DC power jack output on the end of a wire. They are used for indoor lighting and floor lamp applications. Some LED power supplies operate in a boost configuration. These modules have low voltage DC inputs and produce a higher DC output voltage for driving the LEDs. These are typically used to provide power for LCD or LED backlight panels. They are PCB boards and usually can drive several serial strings of LEDs, have programmable current settings per string and may also incorporate PWM or analog (potentiometer or level) inputs for dimming. They are used in products like portable instrumentation displays and medical instruments.
