Specialized Power ICs and Modules

Using specialized power ICs and modules can significantly reduce the component count, cost and complexity of a power management system.  These chips and modules perform many functions of power management such as battery charging, voltage regulation, DC-to-DC conversion, AC to DC conversion, motor control and supervisory power tasks.  Understanding the functions that can be performed by these components during the initial design phase of a system can increase the chance of producing a highly optimized and effective design plan.
