A Showstopper on the Racetrack and the Dance Floor

Arrow-sponsored IndyCar racer has been tearing up the dance floor as a contestant on ABC's Dancing with the Stars.

James Hinchcliffe, sponsored by Arrow and driver of the Arrow Electronics No. 5 Indy Car, has earned quite a few awards in his career as a race car driver. He recently wrapped up the 2016 racing system, finishing 13th in the overall standings, and he won the pole position for the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500.

These achievements are even more awe-inspiring when you take into account the fact that James wasn’t able to participate in last year’s Indy 500 after a near-fatal crash when a piece of his suspension broke and he crashed into the wall at 224 mph. Despite the severity of the crash and his subsequent injuries, James forged his way through physical therapy and eventually got back to tearing up the racetrack. And he took it a step further.

Quite a few steps further, considering he’s also been tearing up the dance floor as a contestant on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. Executing complex choreography each week, James has danced the rumba, tango, and quickstep, among others. Each week brings a new challenge, and James has noted that preparing for each dance is very physically demanding, but he continues to persevere and prevail. Arrow is immensely proud to work with and support James, and we continue to wish him good luck as he progresses on Dancing with the Stars, on tonight at 8|7c, ABC.

Watch the Dance

In recent action on "Dancing with the stars", James Hinchcliffe topped the leader board for the second time, collecting two perfect 10s from the judges! The theme of the night? Each dancer's most memorable year. Hinchcliffe chose 2015, the year of his horrific crash and inspirational recovery.
