MELVILLE, NEW YORK, March 14, 2005 —The North American Components (NAC) division of Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW) was named Supplier of the Year by Smtek International, a leading provider of EMS products serving OEMs. The award was presented to the Arrow Electronics Components (AEC) division of NAC in Woodland Hills, California.

The Supplier of the Year award recognized Arrow AEC for its global efforts in providing tailored supply chain solutions within a variety of Smtek’s locations around the world, including Massachusetts, California, and Thailand. These efforts included the successful deployment of a staffed in-plant store in one of Smtek’s California facilities, which made it easier to serve its customers in that region more efficiently.

“Arrow’s supply chain solutions are tailored to meet the global, regional and local needs of our customers,” said Martin Townsend, Regional Vice President, AEC. “Earning Smtek’s highest award means a great deal to Arrow and demonstrates our ability to continually provide high levels of service excellence for our customers.”

Although this is the first year that Arrow has received the Supplier of the Year award, its winning partnership with Smtek was also illustrated last year when Smtek honored Arrow with its Supplier Excellence award.
