Arrow ECS’ Tammy Ells Named to UBM Channel’s CRN Magazine ‘Power 100’ Women of the Channel List; Lisa Gerber, Layne Kipp Recognized among 2012 Women of the Channel
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (Jul. 23, 2012) – Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions, a business segment of Arrow Electronics Inc. [NYSE: ARW], announced that Tammy Ells, Lisa Gerber and Layne Kipp have been named to UBM Channel’s CRN Magazine 2012 “Women of the Channel.” Ells was selected among CRN’s “Power 100” list of female executives in the IT channel.
The Women of the Channel list was compiled by the editors of CRN based on nominations and applications from a field of vendor channel organizations, distributors and solution providers. Criteria for selection was based on the role each applicant played over the past year in driving revenue for her company and the steps each has taken to evangelize the importance of the IT channel.
An elite subset of list, the “Power 100” designation, is awarded to women holding channel-focused positions who have made a name for themselves as influential leaders within her company and the IT channel as a whole.
“Arrow ECS applauds CRN’s commitment to honoring influential female leaders throughout the IT channel,” said Sean Kerins, president of Arrow ECS in North America. “Tammy, Lisa and Layne deserve this recognition for their outstanding contributions to Arrow and dedication to best serving our suppliers and solution providers. Arrow ECS congratulates them and all of the women on this year’s list.”
As a sales director for Arrow ECS in North America, Ells has helped to build Arrow’s strategic account program and maximize the value of Arrow ECS’ programs for key accounts in order to drive sales and profitability for both Arrow ECS and its solution providers.
Kipp also is a sales director for Arrow ECS in North America. She helped NetApp to achieve record billings through distribution in 2011 by collaborating with several teams across Arrow ECS to create a non-traditional financed and resourced distribution model for NetApp solution providers.
Gerber serves as finance director for Arrow ECS in North America. In 2011, she drove the integration of the financial operations within Arrow ECS’ North American storage, security, virtualization and networking businesses to create a converged data-center business unit that delivered year-on-year growth. She also had an integral role in the integration of the North American IT consulting and professional services division of InScope International.
“Now in its ninth annual publication, CRN’s special ‘Women of the Channel’ issue is one of our most popular of the year,” said Kelley Damore, vice president, editorial director, UBM Channel. “CRN’s 2012 ‘Women of the Channel’ list honors female executives based on their accomplishments over the past year, and their dedication to driving the overall success of the IT Channel. This designation is especially important because it recognizes successful and influential women in the IT channel, which has long been considered a male-centric industry. I take great pride in honoring and congratulating these women for their contributions to the industry and their respective organizations.”
