Arrow Electronics to Inventory Discontinued Cortina Networking Components

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (Aug. 1, 2012) – Arrow Electronics Inc. (NYSE:ARW) announced an agreement with Cortina Systems Inc. establishing Arrow as the leading source of supply for discontinued stocks of Cortina LXT network products.

Through the agreement, Arrow will provide global supply assurance support for the following parts for networking and communications applications:

• LXT314 UCLXT315ANE.A2 and UCLXT322ANE.A2 T1 PCM repeaters/transceivers
• LXT386 WJLXT386LE.B2 quad T1/E1/J1 transceiver
• LXT908 EELXT901APC.A4 universal 10BASE-T and attachment unit interface transceiver
• LXT914 EELXT914PE.B3 flexible quad Ethernet controller
• LXT970 EGLXT970AQC.B11 dual-speed fast Ethernet controller
• LXT974 WBLXT974BHC.A8 fast Ethernet 10/100 quad transceivers

Orders for these products will be fulfilled from inventories at Arrow’s Reno, Nev., warehouse.

“This component agreement demonstrates Arrow’s commitment to deliver long-term support to our customers who continue to rely on us for factory-direct parts after an OCM (original components manufacturer) has discontinued production,” said Tyler Moore, director of supply assurance at Arrow Electronics. “These Cortina products, originally developed by Intel Corporation and acquired as part of Intel’s divestiture to Cortina, have shown continued demand in the networking and communications market. We are excited to be able to extend delivery support of these products beyond the manufacturer’s last-time buy date.”

Arrow’s supply assurance program supports customers’ ongoing demand for electronics parts after an original component manufacturer has discontinued production of finished components and die-level products. Arrow maintains direct connections with its suppliers for information concerning engineering changes, lifecycle changes, and lead-time information, while ensuring that a wide range of factory-direct end-of-life product inventory – including over 1,400 qualified manufacturer’s list devices – are available to customers.
