Further expanding the North American services portfolio, Arrow ECS introduces ‘UC in the Cloud,’ enhances remote infrastructure-management services
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (Sep. 4, 2012) – Now with more than 35 offerings under its North American services portfolio, Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions, a business segment of Arrow Electronics Inc. (NYSE: ARW), has added two new services. A unified communications software-as-a-service solution powered by Meetrix has been added, and Arrow ECS has expanded its remote infrastructure-management services through an agreement with Live Virtual Help Desk.
“Arrow ECS is pleased to continue adding services that address critical demand in the marketplace and enable solution providers to maximize sales opportunities,” said Jim Livingston, vice president of services for Arrow ECS.
The Arrow ECS “UC in the Cloud” solution allows small and midsize companies to quickly deploy unified communications and collaboration that are scalable and secure. Meetrix is a premier Arrow ECS solutions partner, and the Meetrix-designed solution provides the same power and benefits of any enterprise-level unified communications and collaboration solution on the market, but without any hardware capital-investment requirements.
“Meetrix is excited to be working with Arrow’s reseller partners to deliver a full-feature, industrial strength cloud-based UC and collaboration solution that’s ideally suited for enhancing IP- (Internet protocol) based communications, business transactions and employee productivity to midmarket and enterprise customers,” said Jebb Dykstra, CEO of Meetrix. “This solution shifts capex (IT capital expenditure) costs to opex (operating expense) costs given it’s delivered as a SaaS subscription model. It’s the perfect solution for winning new customers as well as winning back or upgrading lapsed and end-of-life UCC licensees.”
Arrow ECS’ additional infrastructure-management services enable escalation procedures to be tailored based on business needs, hours of operation and other considerations. Web-enabled ticketing capabilities are available through the desktop support services. Canadian-based Live Virtual Help Desk provides front-end phone support and remote infrastructure-management for servers, networks, desktops, laptops and hand-held devices.
“Live Virtual Help Desk is pleased to work with Arrow ECS to assist solution providers with augmenting their technical service solutions with higher-margin, annuity-based help-desk and remote infrastructure management services,” said Dan Sturgill, CEO for Live Virtual Help Desk. “Because we provide a fully integrated solution with both NOC (network operations center) and help-desk support, our partners can focus on selling a flexible, affordable and branded service.”
