Arrow’s OEM Business Hosts ‘Make or Buy Decisions’ Series

The original equipment manufacturer computing solutions business of Arrow Electronics Inc. is hosting a series of seminars throughout the United States during the month of May.  The first event was held May 10 in Chicago and attracted more than 45 registered participants.

Following the theme, “Make or Buy Decisions,” the series is designed to assist OEMs with evaluating new products and best practices for customized industrial and embedded computing solutions they plan to build or contract out for assembly.  Arrow sells many of the chassis, hard drives and panels that OEMs need to build applications and systems.  In addition, Arrow is a leading global outsourced provider for OEMs seeking design, engineering, integration and logistics support.

Participants in the events can see and ask questions about the latest processors and follow-on products from Microsoft, Intel and Intel Premier Partners.  Each day-long event includes:

  • Keynote presentations by Microsoft and Intel
  • Afternoon workshop focused on operating systems and tools
  • Expert question-and-answer session
  • Exhibits and demonstrations from leading technology suppliers such as Emerson, RadiSys, Advantech and Kontron

In addition, Arrow will showcase its digital signage expertise and capabilities by exhibiting customized signage.  Featuring touchscreen technology, the signage provides information such as the event schedule; web mapping with local restaurants and places of interest; current flight and weather data; and promotional information about Four Winds Interactive, an Arrow digital signage supplier.

Upcoming series seminars include:

  • May 17 at the Cleveland Embassy Suites located at 5800 Rockside Woods Blvd. in Independence, Ohio
  • May 19 at the Dallas Microsoft Innovation Center located at 7000 N. State Hwy. 161 in Irving, Texas
  • May 25 at the Minneapolis Microsoft Innovation Center located at 8300 Norman Center Dr., Suite 950, in Bloomington, Minn.

Accommodations are provided for OEMs located more than two hours outside of the event vicinities.  Visit http://www.regonline.com/builder/site/Default.aspx?EventID=959832 for further information or to register for the seminars.  Seating is limited.
