Arrow Electronics' Ash Brooks Named among Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leaders

MELVILLE, N.Y.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Ash Brooks, divisional chief information officer for the Enterprise Computing Solutions segment of Arrow Electronics Inc. (NYSE: ARW) has been named to the 2011 Premier 100 IT Leaders by IDG’s Computerworld.

Now in its 11th year, the Premier 100 spotlights individuals who “have made a positive impact on their organization through their work in technology. These are individuals who manage internal IT (information technology) organizations, mentor and motivate their IT teams and business colleagues, create a positive work environment, envision innovative solutions to business challenges and effectively manage and execute IT strategies.”

Winners are selected using Computerworld’s IT Leader Index to assist with analyzing nominee applications based on how closely they match Computerworld’s definition of the IT Leader.

Brooks oversees global IT for Arrow’s Enterprise Computing Solutions business. He is credited for leading the implementation of an enterprise resource planning solution across the North American ECS organization. It centralized many services and processes and greatly expanded the Arrow ECS North American business intelligence portfolio for both internal and external users.

Brooks joined Arrow in 1999 as vice president of end-user computing. He has held a variety of IT leadership positions with Arrow in the past 12 years. Before joining Arrow, Brooks was director of end-user services for CSX Technology. In 2005, he was honored as a “One to Watch” by CIO Magazine, an award that identifies the rising stars in IT.

Winners were announced in the Feb. 21 issue of Computerworld and on Computerworld.com.
