Arrow Electronics Announces New Wireless Digi ConnectCore™ for i.MX51 Module Powered by Freescale Semiconductor
February 23, 2010 – Arrow Electronics, Inc. today announced the availability of the Digi ConnectCore™ for i.MX51, a new system-on-module solution with wired and wireless network connectivity. Powered by the Freescale Semiconductor i.MX51 applications processor and MC13892 power management IC, it offers fast integration, reliability and design flexibility with high-performance, low-power operation.

Arrow customers will experience reduced overall hardware development time, with complete software support. Integrated wireless LAN interface on the module provides instant wireless connectivity, eliminating RF design complexities and the need for Federal Communications Commission certification, as the module is pre-certified.
Enhanced features include a dual-display interface and a hardware encryption engine for a broad range of target markets, including medical, digital signage, security and access control, retail, industrial and building automation, and transportation among others.
The Digi JumpStart Kit for Microsoft Windows® Embedded CE 6.0 provides all necessary hardware and software components for immediate embedded product development. The module provides long-term reliability and availability with a five-year module warranty from Digi. The processor is part of Freescale’s 10-year product longevity program.
The new module is also supported by Arrow’s unique Testdrive program in which customers can try out new tools, free of charge, for 21 days.
“This new three-in-one solution is part of Arrow’s commitment to identify flexible and easy-to-use tools that help get products to market quicker, and combine the technologies of leading silicon, board and software providers,” said David West, vice president of supplier marketing and asset for Arrow Electronics. “We encourage Arrow customers to take advantage of their early access to this new solution and to ‘try before they buy’ through Arrow’s Testdrive program.”
Through June 2010, customers can register to receive the kit from Arrow, the leading provider of the Digi ConnectCore for i.MX51 module and JumpStart Kits, by visiting www.arrownac.com/connect.
