Arrow Electronics Celebrates 20 Years in Reno
Arrow’s Primary Distribution Center Ships 21 Million Components Daily
Arrow Electronics, Inc. is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its primary distribution center in Reno, Nev. In March 1990, Arrow opened the facility in nearby Sparks, Nev., and relocated to its current location in Reno 2001.
Originally an 85,000-square-foot warehouse with 25 employees, the facility is now a state-of-the-art, 493,000-square-foot distribution hub with approximately 600 employees that process and ship product throughout the Americas. Each day, more than 50,000 transactions are processed and about 21 million components are shipped. The facility’s Programming Center was recently recognized for delivering consistent quality levels well above five Sigma levels in the past six months.
“Our Reno operations have experienced remarkable expansion over the last 20 years, which we attribute entirely to Arrow’s talented employees and the critical role they play in driving growth for the company every day,” said Vinnie Vellucci, president of Arrow Americas Components. “Congratulations to the entire staff of the Reno distribution center for reaching this impressive milestone.”
