M. Catherine (Cathy) Morris ranks again among ‘Most Powerful Women’ by VARBusiness MagazineFor the second consecutive year, M. Catherine Morris, senior vice president and chief strategy officer for Arrow Electronics Inc., was recognized in VARBusiness magazine’s annual “Power 50 Women of the Channel.” The list celebrates female leaders who are role models to other women and are making the greatest impact in the information technology industry. “I am delighted that VARBusiness continues to recognize women and their contributions in the IT industry,” said Morris. “Women at all levels have an important role in the long-term direction of the channel and every day they are making significant contributions toward that goal.” “I congratulate each of the women on the list for their continued growth and professional accomplishments, and I thank VARBusiness for recognizing my contributions at Arrow.” With nearly 20 years of experience in the IT distribution business, Morris has had a significant role in Arrow’s success since joining the company in 1994 through its acquisition of Anthem Electronics. Through a series of senior leadership roles at Arrow – including vice president of North American support services, vice president of corporate development and, most recently, president of Arrow’s Enterprise Computing Solutions segment – Morris has had an integral role in Arrow’s acquisition strategy and Arrow ECS’ dramatic growth over the past several years. Under her leadership, Arrow ECS doubled its revenue and expanded significantly its geographic reach, line card and partner community. Arrow ECS is a $5 billion (2007) business, with operations in 28 countries globally, 2,500 employees and relationships with more than 75 leading suppliers and 17,000 reseller partners. Morris oversees all strategic and operational initiatives across Arrow. This includes global acquisition and merger activity as well as Arrow’s companywide operational effectiveness initiatives. The 2008 Power 50 Women of the Channel list was featured in the August issue of VARBusiness. Click here to read the article. |
