Joins Customers, Suppliers and United States Department of Homeland Security in Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT)
MELVILLE, N.Y. – April 16, 2007 – Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW) today announced that it has received certification to the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) from the Customs and Border Protection division of the United States Department of Homeland Security. C-TPAT is a voluntary government/business initiative to build cooperative relationships that strengthen and improve the international supply chain and United States border security.

To qualify for participation in C-TPAT, companies moving large quantities of goods across international borders must submit a profile based on a comprehensive assessment of their supply chain security procedures using the C-TPAT criteria or guidelines jointly developed by Customs and Border Protection and the trade community for their specific enrollment category. The criteria encompass the following areas: business partner requirements, procedural security, physical security, personnel security, education and training, access controls, manifest procedures, information security and conveyance security.
