2007 Arrow Year in Review

Arrow Electronics made significant progress in 2007. Arrow expanded geographically and in important vertical markets, and received recognition for its business success. The timeline below highlights some of those achievements –

 

January

  • Launched Arrow CARES, an inventory, auto-replenishment system
  • Named distributor of the year by Tyco Electronics

February

  • Appointed John P. McMahon as senior vice president of Corporate Human Resources
  • Received “Distributor of the Year” awards for its Arrow Nordic businesses from Tyco Electronics
  • Reported strong fourth-quarter sales and record annual revenue
  • Assisted customers meeting deadline for China’s RoHS environmental regulation

March

  • Named one of FORTUNE’s Most Admired Companies for the seventh consecutive year

April

  • Acquired Agilysys KeyLink Systems Group
  • Named a Fortune 200 company
  • Received certification to the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to assist in strengthening and improving the international supply chain
  • Posted record first-quarter sales and earning per share
  • Helped to build home for Hurricane Katrina evacuees

May

  • Awarded Long Island Association Medal of Honor in recognition of outstanding corporate citizenship

June

  • Acquired component distribution business of Adilam Pty. Ltd
  • Arrow China topped Electronic Supply & Manufacturing (China) customer survey
  • Rated “Most Important” value-added distributor among VARBusiness 500 companies

July

  • Named “Most Important” value-added distributor by the 100 fastest growing solutions providers, according to Computer Reseller News
  • Announced record sales for second-quarter earnings
  • Arrow ECS President Cathy Morris named one of the most powerful women in the technology channel by VARBusiness magazine

August

  • Ranked top in China and Asia for third year running in EDN magazine’s World Branding Study
  • Offered guidance from Arrow Chairman, President, and CEO William Mitchell to electronics manufacturers on how to manage and lessen supply-chain risk in China

September

  • Acquired Centia Group Limited and AKS Group Nordic AB
  • Announced that Arrow’s North American Components business and IBM will collaborate on advanced chip design and manufacturing services
  • Received top ranking in 2007 CRN Sourcing Study
  • Listed on the 2007 InformationWeek 500

October

  • Established Japanese subsidiary and acquired Universe Electron Corporation
  • Announced that Arrow’s North American Components business will provide global supply assurance support for a broad range of embedded controller products from Intel
  • Established an office in St. Petersburg, Russia
  • Helped to provide disaster relief from Southern California wildfires

November

  • Ranked in top five again in 2007 InformationWeek China 100
  • Received eight channel marketing awards from the National Electronic Distributors Association
  • Unveiled an expanded portfolio to serve the growing information technology needs of medium-sized business
  • Arrow ECS President Kevin Gilroy named among Top 25 Most Innovative Channel Executives by CRN magazine
  • Expanded agreement with OSRAM to offer LED systems products from OSRAM SYLVANIA to OEMs in the United States
  • Contributed funds to help provide Thanksgiving meals to families in need
