The European Union's RoHS Directive requires companies to certify that their products are free of hazardous materials as of July, 2006. OEMs, EMS providers and suppliers face a number of challenges as they prepare for this deadline, but perhaps the biggest is gathering information from all their suppliers on the hazardous materials content of each component.
