Arrow Employees Surpass $100,000 for
Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief

More than 900 Arrow employees worldwide demonstrated their compassion and kindness by donating a combined total of $108,660 to five nonprofit organizations assisting with Hurricane Katrina relief and recovery in the Gulf States.

Combined with a 100 percent company match from Corporate, and Arrow's $100,000 grant to the American Red Cross, Arrow and its employees together pledged well over $300,000 to the hurricane relief effort. The five nonprofit organizations receiving support included the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Mercy Corps and United Way.

Included in the amount matched was a significant $5,000 contribution from Carlo Giersch, a former member of Arrow's board of directors and founder of Spoerle Electronic. In a letter to President and CEO Bill Mitchell, Giersch wrote: “All my wishes to those affected, that they will be able to return to their normal lives as soon as possible.”

Bill Mitchell, president and CEO, thanked employees for their generous support during a time of desperate need. “Your contributions will help provide the essential medical resources, food, clothing and shelter to those who were deeply affected by this tragedy, and hopefully offer them hope as they begin the rebuilding process and slowly return to normalcy,” said Mitchell.
