Arrow Sponsors Coin Harvest 2005Arrow recently donated $20,000 in support of the 7th annual Coin Harvest Drive, a fundraising campaign implemented through Long Island, N.Y. schools to help end hunger and reduce food waste in the local community. The campaign is run by Island Harvest, a not-for-profit food source for needy families on Long Island, and will run through the end of May. The funds raised by students in participating schools are used to support Island Harvest's food collection and distribution programs, which serve thousands of hungry people on Long Island each year. In addition to helping to feed the hungry, Coin Harvest serves as an educational campaign for students, focusing on social responsibility, community involvement, proper nutrition and good eating habits. As the primary sponsor for Coin Harvest 2005, Arrow's contribution will enable Island Harvest to operate the campaign at virtually no cost. "Island Harvest has been assisting Long Island's children and adults at risk of hunger for more than ten years," said Jacqueline Strayer, Vice President, Corporate Communications. "As a concerned corporate citizen, we at Arrow feel privileged to support Island Harvest's mission to raise hunger awareness in a community where so many of our employees live and work."
