Arrow Employees Take Big Steps to Cure Cystic Fibrosis
On May 20, 21 Long Island-based Arrow employees joined team captain Anthony Pappone, finance manager, Melville, in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Great Strides Walk in Long Beach, N.Y. Participants trekked a five-kilometer (3.1 miles) section of the Long Beach Boardwalk to raise a total of $3,835, including a $1,050 grant earned through Arrow’s Employee Volunteer Team Grant program for U.S. employees.
Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease affecting approximately 30,000 people in the United States with chronic, life-threatening lung infections and digestion impairment. The median predicted age of survival for people with Cystic Fibrosis is in the mid-30s.
